Beware of faceless drug traffickers who would want to use you as a mule or drug courier mostly at the airports, there are lots of dangerous people out there in the world today. I had one encounter at New Jersey's airport in the United States on my way back to Nigeria and there came this lady with 15 bags and never wanted pay extra money for her excess luggage, she pleaded with me to check in one of her bags on my name but I refused saying to her that I would not take responsibility of a bag I never packed. To my greatest surprise, an airline official was trying to convince me to take on the lady's bag. At this point was when my cousin who escorted me to the airport asked the airline official to sign an undertaking stating that he knew the contents of her bag but surprisingly he declined. Although this lady called me all sorts of names but I never yielded. This is exactly how people convince one against his/her wish to take on unnecessary risks and when one gets into trouble, they will deny ever knowing him/her. To all travellers, be careful of whom you assist to take on their excess bags at the airport or deliver items abroad. Once you accept one's luggage, you are also responsible for any unprecedented troubles. Remember, lots of people have been languishing in jailer crimes they never committed. Do not accept bags from strangers at the airports to avoid paying for someone else's crime.
Smuggling techniques
There are several clever smuggling techniques invented by the drug traffickers to move drugs and other contraband goods across borders, however customs and border protection agents have ways of detecting these techniques. These include: stuffing food cans with cocaine before sealing them; hiding drugs in food shipments; stuffing fruits and food stuffs with cocaine with banana being very popular; filling sachet bags with drugs and giving it a food label.

Some people go with the option of swallowing the drugs and a person that swallows the load will not eat a meal or drink on a flight trip. There are also cases where the drugs are hidden up the anus or vagina but a good custom agent will find them.

Do not be another statistic, ask questions and confirm things yourself (Advice)
If there is any reason whatsoever to assist your friends and relatives to deliver goods abroad, ask questions because even the airport officials will also ask if you pack the bag yourself and if you know the contents of the bag. Once your answer is 'yes' then you have taken the full responsibility of the bag in case of unprecedented troubles.
1. Make sure they pack it before you, if possible be present as they pack it and also double check it yourself.
2. If already packed make sure they open it for you to see the contents before sealing the bags otherwise do not accept the responsibility of delivering them.
